Start by contacting the vendor or manufacturer of the device. They should be able to assist you and answer questions you have about their products. You can also get support and learn how to use a particular device by joining special interest groups (SIGs) and online discussion forums. Device manufacturers sometime offer on their web sites a place for users to interact with other users, share experiences, give advice about the products they use, etc. Always check a manufacturer's web site if you're looking for peer-to-peer training, coaching or support. Chances are you might also find product documentation and support manuals that may help you to get started or answer your specific questions.
Other places where you can ask questions about assistive devices are online discussion forums and email lists created by users or field professionals. You can search for these specialized communities in Yahoo!Groups http://groups.yahoo.com or at Google Groups http://groups.google.com/. A good example is the AAC DynaVox discussion group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DynaMicDuos.
Sincerely,
Chris
