i use a good grips jar opener available at most housewares stores. sometimes i also use a screwdriver to pry up the side of a rim if it is stuck before using the grpper. my mom found me some great grippers that look like oil filter changers with the handle for torque and my room mate has a great trick of slamming the top of a bottledown hard on the cabinet to loosen it b4 twisting.
